Hi Savor Home readers! I'm Natasha visiting from Schue Love and I'm so excited that Tiffany asked me to fill in for her today. She asked me to write about what I know for Sure About...and today I want to talk about Style! Now, I don't consider myself an expert, but I like to look to those who exude style for the rules that all women should look to for advice--whether it's in fashion, home decor, food or day-to-day living.
"Fashion fades, only style remains the same."
—Coco Chanel
Trends are great, but it's the classics that never go out of style. You will never go wrong with a strand of pearls, your signature scent, and a great pair of black stiletto pumps.
See what I mean? A true test of style is when you can still wear something today, that was worn several decades ago. Classic.
“Modesty is great, and quietness is nice, but sometimes it’s much more fun to be decadent.”
—Interior designer Robin Standefer of Roman and William
Nothing is worthwhile without risk and a little drama. Plain and safe is not style...it's simply boring. So the next time you grab for the beige pillow, lamp, duvet, towels, rug...whatever it may be...consider the bolder choice! You may be surprised with what a difference it makes. Speaking of decadence...
"Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first."
—Ernestine Ulmer
Food, like so many other things in life, should exude style. It's not worth eating if it doesn't look appetizing. Variety and color are always essential when sitting down to eat, after all, your eyes always eat before your stomach does!
"Why change? Everyone has his own style. When you have found it, you should stick to it."
—Audrey Hepburn
Style is not a trend. Style is confidence...and who better exudes that then the style icon herself? At the end of the day, as long as you love it and really believe in it, you'll never stray too far away.
Moral of the story? What I know for sure is that style is all relative. It's about the individual. So I'll leave you with this thought:
So...what does style mean to you? :)

Great post! I am a classic kind of girl myself! Love khaki, love black pants with a tailored leg, love a crisp white button down, love a black pump, and I have to have a really nice, real leather handbag!
ReplyDeleteStyle means everything to me. Especially in pictures. Don't you hate it when you look back at a picture and say "what was I thinking?"!!!
Happy hump day ladies!
I love this post! Great quotes, gotta frame the one from Coco Chanel. This post makes me happy and inspires the best part of me which is living! And to me living surrounding yourself with things and people you love!
ReplyDeleteFor me Style=Lifestyle! It says so on my blog! The way you live, the things you eat, the choices you make, the people you surround yourself with are all apart of you being who you are.
Right now, this is what I am all about! I want to simplify my life to be stylish by injecting all the things that I love!
Great post, again!
Very well said Natasha! Great guest posting, Tiffany! Looking forward to your next.
ReplyDeleteNatasha, I love your blog and I absolutely agree with you regarding "having your own style"! I love the "classic look" ..the look that never goes out-of-style...Thank you for the great quotes!
