Are you reading anything good these days? I recently finished a book that made me laugh so hard that I would be crazy not to share it with you. And by laugh, I don't mean, "Ha, ha that's funny" kind of laugh. I mean the kind of laugh that requires you to have a box of tissues nearby. It's called Black Heels To Tractor Wheels by Ree Drummond. It's about how she unexpectedly met her strikingly handsome husband who she calls "The Marlboro Man." She's a city girl, he's a cowboy, a real one. They are complete opposites who fall in love and experience an old school courtship- like eating dinners and watching movies at home and having conversations on the porch under the stars kind of courtship. Call me crazy, but I would take that over a dinner and $12 per ticket movie out any day. Ree is hilarious and utterly honest throughout the book and I just loved it. I will probably read it again one day because I heart a good love story...
I'm looking for another book, so any recommendations you have would be great!
P.S. I now have the sudden urge to restyle my nightstand...

That sounds like fun. Well I did recently finish two books, both so different from one another, for a fun but highly entertaining read..."Bringing home the birkin" was great and "American Wife" which I have on my bookshelf for a few years..haha and just finished it, really liked it also. I am just about done with "Why be happy when you could be normal" which is a memoir told with brutal honesty and its really quite moving. Great if you enjoy that kind of book...happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have a pile to read. Our book club is currently reading Unbroken. Need to hurry up and finish it before tomorrow! LOL
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Ree's book but I have read her blog. She's not only a good writer, she's funny AND a foodie - the trifecta! Nora Ephron's a funny foodie and I laughed through some of her "I Feel Bad about My Neck" (it hit my age demographic), but it wasn't 'roll on the floor'. I laughed through Anne Lamott's book "Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life". She has that self-deprecating humor that reels you in.
ReplyDeleteLOVE all these inspiration books! Gorgeous! And I'll have to check out that book! Thanks for the rec!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a cute book! Love these images too.
ReplyDeleteI want to see the results of the nightstand restyle!
